August Shooting Star Award Winner
Aspire is proud to recognize Lynnette Vilhauer as our August Shooting Star Award Winner!
Each month Aspire collects outstanding employee recognition called Shooting Star nominations. These are voted upon and awarded at our monthly staff meeting. All of the monthly award winners are voted upon each year to select our yearly Shooting Star Award winner.
Recently Lynnette noticed that a gentleman was not himself. She quickly contacted nursing to get him into the doctor for an appointment. At the time no one knew that he was very sick and would end up passing away.
I want to recognize Lynnette for what she has accomplished and the support she has given within the last couple of weeks. I was out on vacation and she handled this emergency situation, took on the leadership role and ensured that all proper channels were followed. Lynnette also provided compassion, love, dignity and respect to the gentleman and his family during this difficult time. She spent many hours outside of her shift at the ICU with him and helped his sister navigate through the process and when she felt that he wasn’t receiving the comfort cares requested by family, she asked the right questions and intervened to ensure his final days were pain free.
For people who don’t work closely with Lynnette she may seem like a person in the background listening but rarely sharing her opinion. As I have had the pleasure of working with her I see her as a LEADER, someone who is caring, and will go above and beyond for the people that she works with, even when it hurts, even when it’s hard, she will be there.
Thank you Lynnette for all that you do and have done, it is a please to work with you and I couldn’t ask for a better team member at 702, you rock!!
~Nominated by Amber Locke, Community Living Supervisor
We all know the importance of knowing our people supported. It comes into play more than a person realizes. Due to Lynnette’s keen insight and knowledge of a gentleman she works with, she was able to get him medical attention with almost imperceptible symptoms. No one knew how grave his situations was but Lynnette knew that something was not right.
She took her time to make sure that he was comfortable and nearly always had someone by his side in his state of duress all the while providing support to he and his family. she has proved to be an important person in his life all the way to the very end. Thank you for everything, Lynnette!!
