Aspire is proud to recognize Amber Marzenell as our May Shooting Star Award Winner!

Each month Aspire collects outstanding employee recognitions called Shooting Star nominations.  These are voted upon and awarded at our monthly staff meeting.  All of the monthly award winners are voted upon each year to select our yearly Shooting Star Award winner.

Currently three locations are in an overnight crisis and Amber has stepped up and assisted in multiple locations. Amber seems confident in working at locations outside of her assigned location and has developed a good rapport with the people living there.

This morning there was an emergency situation that I (supervisor) responded to.  When entering the living room there were already 8 employees and one participant.  Amber was sitting with the participant, assisting them with carrots; she was calm and seemed genuinely concerned about him.  After learning about the morning events leading up to the emergency situation, Amber handled herself professionally, calmly, and exactly how she should have.  I think the situation could have been worse had she not been there.

After the situation was diffused, Amber and I were talking and she stated this will not deter me from coming back here.  In that moment as a supervisor I realized how important Amber is to Aspire as a whole.  she has gone above and beyond to help a location that hasn't had a lot of people as willing as she is to alleviate some of the pressure.  Thank you Amber for realizing what our job duties are and looking outside of the situation. When someone is in crisis mode, which can be frustrating and scary at times, you still saw the person and the mission we have as CSP's afterwards.  Thank you for all that you do!!
